INNOVA

innova mourns the passing of Henry Brant, pioneer of spatial composition. We are proud to make available nine volumes of his recordings, made under his supervision; together they give a glimpse of his humor, intelligence, professionalism, dedication, and longevity. Now, at last, he can take tea with Charles Ives and Leonardo da Vinci.

The sporadic innova Podcast is here. Subscribe to the future: it's free and quite interesting. Tell-all interviews with your favorite innova artists (and some of your betes noires). Don't forget his other riveting show Measure for Measure: New Music, New Thoughts. Most importantly please join the innova Fan Club to get all the scoops on what's around the musical corner.

In the wars between Classical and Jazz, Joel Harrison is Switzerland. He does his own thing, and he does it beautifully (in the company of stellar collaborators).

There are lots of good tunes still to be written in C Major. And lots more in 4/4. This CD has none of those, however, despite being called In Four. Just four virtuosos in kicky versions of Louis Andriessen and other fierce new music types.

In Groove's Dictionary of Music, Adler is the first entry; he has a knack for rhythm and exploits it to the hilt. Expect a highly controlled yet still legal endorphin rush.
